Finish the main story and choose Continue before looking for Kate’s archive note. The letter chain reuses earlier tasks with new clues, so identify the post-game state before changing a familiar clock or bottle shelf.

Post-Game Secret Ending Route

Spoilers for the post-game letter chain and hidden ending. Finish the main story, choose Continue, and read Kate’s archive note. Then revisit the named tasks in order; each accepted response leads to the next letter.

The developer’s 1.6.2 notes say an issue that hid Kate’s archive note after completion was fixed. If the note is absent, confirm the story is complete, continue the save, and check the archive after updating before treating the route as skipped.

Follow the letters

1. In Waking Up Aldous, set the alarm to 4:05. The observed successful footage shows the IV and I hand positions, followed shortly by the next letter. Automatic captions in the achievement video render the clue as 5:05, but the independent written achievement guide agrees with the observed 4:05. Use the clock frame and accepted letter transition, rather than treating a caption transcription as the puzzle answer.

2. In Helping with Bathing, use the wall tiles in the letter’s order: Alexandra, bathtub, suitcase, hand. Read the maze note behind the loose tile.

3. Return to Assisting in Alchemy. Translate the maze route into right, right, right, left, right, left, right, right, left, then enter it on the wooden box for the next letter.

4. Go back to Searching the Attic. Group the letter’s symbols into structures and windows, moon signs, and water signs; match those groups to the three box symbols.

5. During Dressing up for Dinner, use the dream arrangement in the cellar: bronze at the spiral, silver at the snake, and gold at the triangle with a vertical line. This is not the main dinner shelf or the Night Time Duties shelf.

6. In the hidden room, shake the red cloth to reveal a note. The green box code is 6294; derive the digits from the note marks, coffee-house window, hunting eye, and alchemy symbol. Take the telescope.

7. Stay in the room, use the telescope at the window, and inspect the distant building’s lit window. The completion screen closes the investigation and earns You’ve found him!

If Kate’s note or an intermediate letter is missing, confirm the post-story Continue state and the current update. Patch 1.6.2 records a fix for the archive note; that note does not change the route clues above. The sources do not claim every historical or platform build behaves identically.
