Servant of the Lake Porridge Puzzle
Cook breakfast, preserve Rustie's milk opportunity, and solve the later berry-and-insect bowl before feeding Aldous.
Porridge Preparation and the Berry Bowl
Make the porridge in the Servant’s Room, but feed Rustie milk before using the dead mouse if you also want Feeding the Cat. The bowl challenge happens later in Aldous’s bedroom and is a separate interaction.

Cook and carry the porridge
Collect the wood and oats from the Servant’s Room, the milk from the crate behind the maid, and the pan and dead mouse from the cupboard near Aldous’s room. Rustie is still grooming on the chair at this point. Give it the milk first for the optional achievement; after the mouse is used, the grooming opportunity has passed for this run through the task.
🔍 Enlarge ClueFeed the dead mouse to Rustie and take the matches. Light the stove with the wood, set the pan over the heat, and add the milk and oats. When the porridge has cooked, take the small pot and enter Aldous’s bedroom.
🔍 Enlarge ClueTrap the insect
Wake Aldous, complete his shave, and open the top drawer for berries before setting up the bowl. Put the porridge, berries, and spoon into it. Watch the insect move between holes; when it leaves one, cover that opening with a berry. Keep following its current position until it has nowhere to escape, then squash it and feed Aldous with the spoon.
The task is not complete when the insect disappears: Aldous still needs to eat. If a berry lands on the wrong hole, track the insect’s new position instead of restarting the cooking chain. The accepted result is Aldous finishing the bowl, after which his exercise and dressing interactions continue.
